I have taken too long of a break from my blog and miss the idea of cataloguing my creative endeavors....So I joined this altered book round robin artist group where we basically meet every month to share what we've worked on an pass our book along to a new person. I chose "happiness" as the them for my altered book and here are some photos of what I worked on.

Yesterday I went to a NIA class where the teacher asked us to free-associate to the word passion. Though I messed it up and chose a word (house) associated with the word of the person next to me (bird)...I was still later able to identify what my first thought would have been: Hathor. Hathor is the Goddess of love, beauty and passion and happens to be the Goddess that I've chosen to focus energy on this week. The Universe may be suggesting that I need to live my life with more passion. I looked up passion in the dictionary and got this definition: violent emotion or enthusiasm. I try to imagine carrying this into every aspect of my life.

Later that night I went to Jewel Heart and watched the movie Pecker, which both inspired my to start taking photos again and motivated me to practice radical acceptance of all the people that I come into contact with in my life. Ironic again, since the night before I was feeling depressed about a loved one's choice to include alcohol in his life, even though by society's standards he was doing so responsibly. We all have our own lives to create and make the best of and my idea of an ideal life will work only for me. I should learn to accept and celebrate our differences.

Today Jenya and I went on a downtown adventure....thrifting at the Kiwanis sale, to the Indian buffet for lunch, then the library, saw a fairy door in a store, to Ben and Jerry's and finally ending up at the Michigan where we watched a movie about art cars, which was part of the film festival. When we were eating our ice cream, before we even knew what the next movie would about, we saw a car with a big tree on top of it drive down the road. Turns out that was the director of the film that we would end up seeing. The only thing that would have made this day better was if we bussed or biked rather than drive down town (got a book from the library about living without a car that I hope will inspire me) and if I could learn to have fun on even less money. Want to get back to living more simply.

Sunday was a beautiful day.....lover and I went to Jewel Heart in the morning for meditation and a dharma talk, then out for breakfast at Cafe Zola where we had healthy crepes and omelettes, then to Middle Earth....and found this art work on the way.

Things that I want to include in my life: journaling, blogging, creativity, friendships that are good for me, meaningful-creative-enjoyable work, mindful spending and simple living, new experiences (silat, belly dance, motorbikes), healthy food, movement, yoga and spirituality, positive thinking, enough sleep, love....

people attract the same situations over and over because their energy and thoughts are concentrating in that one area.
